Applied Valuations and Financial Modelling - Oil, Gas and LNG
Modern oil, gas and LNG enterprises face an increasingly dynamic business environment including volatile prices, development costs and timing uncertainties, changes in Government policy and changing debt and equity market conditions. This requires a wide range of industry professionals, across the organisation to develop a strong modelling and valuation capability to understand the full implication of significant investments and changes in major investment assumptions.
Against this background Core Energy Group has developed this course to educate oil, gas and LNG professionals in the relevant areas of Valuation and Financial Modelling.
The course is delivered by industry specialists with extensive, practical experience in valuation and modelling in the oil, gas and LNG arena to support investments, acquisitions, assets sales and financing decisions.
Contents
This course will address:
- Best practice model architecture;
- Valuation and modelling – overview of key concepts;
- Production modelling – production profiles, decline and cut-off;
- Pricing – benchmarks, contracts and hedging;
- Operating expenditure;
- Capital expenditure – exploration, development and depreciation;
- Taxation and royalties – corporate tax, royalties, PRRT;
- Downstream processing – LNG, GTL;
- Sensitivity analysis – scenarios, Monte Carlo simulation; and
- Key metrics.
Assumed Knowledge
The course has been designed to provide an intermediate to advanced understanding of the application of valuation and modelling concepts to specific oil, gas and LNG scenarios.
It is therefore assumed that participants will have an existing understanding of the fundamental concepts of valuation and financial modelling prior to attending the course.
Additional Information
Attendees will be required to bring their own laptop computer and power supply in order to participate in the Excel-based case study, which forms an integral part of the course learning.
